Internal Investigations

We offer full-spectrum investigations counseling to our clients. Our attorneys have counseled domestic and multinational companies and Special Committees of the Board in structuring and executing complex internal investigations involving foreign jurisdictions. This experience allows us to maintain discipline and attention to detail in each investigation.  We also draw upon a strategic global network of field investigators and established contacts to assist in our matters.

Some of our lawyers’ representative engagements include:

• Representation of a medical device company in a False Claims Act Qui Tam action where the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland intervened to pursue FCA allegations relating to purported off-label promotion. The client paid one of the lowest settlements in the past several years for any comparable FCA case in the District of Maryland and, unlike several of its peers, was not required to enter into a Corporate Integrity Agreement.
• Representation of a multinational company to investigate whether its employees engaged in misconduct during a bid process.

• Representation of a Fortune 20 company concerning consumer fraud allegations made by several state attorneys general.
