Human Trafficking & Forced Labor

We represent victims of human trafficking, sex trafficking, forced labor, and similar reprehensible acts in lawsuits against those who have participated in, and benefitted from, that trafficking.

The Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (“TVPRA”) is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits human trafficking, sex trafficking, forced labor, and similar reprehensible acts. The TVPRA not only allows the U.S. government to hold criminals accountable, but the statute also provides a civil cause of action—meaning that victims of human trafficking, forced labor, and related crimes can file lawsuits in federal court against both their traffickers and those who knowingly benefited from these crimes.

Sparacino PLLC has an active anti-human trafficking/forced labor practice. Some of our current anti-trafficking matters include:

  • F.C., et al. v. Jacobs Solutions Inc., et al., No. 23-cv-2660 (D. Colo.) & Al.C., et al. v. Jacobs Solutions Inc., et al., No. 25-cv-00274 (D. Colo.), anti-trafficking cases on behalf nearly 100 Filipino workers against companies that allegedly knowingly participated in, and benefitted from, subjecting our clients to inhumane working conditions in connection with construction projects for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

  • Mueller, et al. v. Deutsche Bank AG, et al., No. 24-cv-06225 (S.D.N.Y.), an anti-trafficking case on behalf of several American victims of human trafficking, forced labor, and torture committed by the terrorist group ISIS in a lawsuit against financial institutions that supported ISIS’s reprehensible acts.

In the coming months, we anticipate filing claims on behalf of those who were kidnapped and tortured by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or its terrorist proxies.
